World Environment Day!

Environment is the basis of our survival and the earth’s existence. The environment is the total of the natural surroundings around us. Environmental protection thus refers to the protection and saving of the environment from the dire impact of human and human-made activities.Environmental protection is an important issue because the environment is on its way to degradation.

The 2021 theme for the World Environment Day is ‘ecosystem restoration’. World Environment Day is celebrated on 5th June, every year across the globe to respect and acknowledge everything that the environment has given us and to take the pledge that we will protect it.

A clean work environment improves employees sense of well-being and health. Germs, bacteria and disease thrive in a dirty environment. In fact, health hazards of unclean work spaces are too many to name.

World Environment Day is one of the biggest annual events organised by the United Nations (UN) to generate awareness about the significance of nature. The day is celebrated across the world to inform people that nature should not be taken for granted and must be respected for its values.

The matter of environmental protection is of utmost urgency because of the maximum danger that the environment is in right now. Owing to various human-made activities, the situation is under a dire threat. The damage is tremendous and has reached a point of no return. However much we try, we cannot undo the destruction that has already been inflicted. Thus, we need to lessen the human impact on the environment as much as possible.

Environmental protection implies taking care of and rescuing the environment. First, awareness about environmental protection should be spread; the familiar people should know about the need and requirements of environmental protection.

Protecting Our Planet Starts with You. Here are ten simple things, you can do to help protect the earth.
- Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three "R's" to conserve natural resources and landfill space.
- Volunteer. Volunteer for cleanups in your community. You can get involved in protecting your watershed, too.
- Educate. When you further your own education, you can help others understand the importance and value of our natural resources.
- Conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in the ocean.
- Choose sustainable.
- Shop wisely. Buy less plastic and bring a reusable shopping bag.
- Use long-lasting light bulbs. Energy efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also flip the light switch off when you leave the room!
- Plant a tree. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat climate change.
- Don't send chemicals into our waterways. Choose non-toxic chemicals in the home and office.
- Bike more. Drive less.

Environmental degradation can be kept under check in some ways. People should be encouraged to plant trees. Forests and vegetations are being cleared extensively for farming and construction purposes. It has led to the depletion of forest resources by and large. The number of trees has diminished to a great extent. Trees are our only source of oxygen in the earth; clearing trees and plants results in depletion and a decrease in the amount of oxygen available in the air. This puts the entire humanity at risk. By facilitating the growth of trees, the greenery can be restored. The loss made can be compensated.

At TheiaScape, we do our best to minimise environmental degradation and attempt to reuse as many products as possible. All our packaging is entirely sustainable and handloom. Yes, we do go for that extra mile to protect and conserve our environment. he greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it. The world is facing and undergoing a lot of crises right now, with environmental hazard being the biggest challenge of them all. And, we at TheiaScape are here to do our bit for the environment. Innovation and change are the only constant. And we are so proud to gloat about our new packaging which consists of our in house, very own, block printed muslin cloth. Sustainable packaging implies the the three R's of reduce, reuse and recycle. And we believe, that our packaging can be reused and recycled by our customers, thus causing reduction in the generation of waste, while also being mindful of the environment. It is through these tiny little baby steps, we believe, together we can surely ensure a better, clean and safe environment for all the future generations to come. After all, we do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; but we borrow it from our children.
